Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO), a unit of American Electric Power (AEP), proposes to construct approximately 27.9 to 31.2 miles of 345-kilovolt (kV) transmission line between the proposed Turk Station (at the proposed John W. Turk, Jr. Power Plant in Hempstead County) and the existing Northwest Texarkana Station, crossing portions of Hempstead, Miller and Little River Counties in Arkansas and Bowie County in Texas.

Hearings for the proposed 345-kV line and two proposed 138-kV transmission lines were held Oct. 27-28 before an Arkansas Public Service Commission administrative law judge.
