Power plant staffing
SWEPCO’s Human Resources Department (HR) will use various recruitment efforts to attract and maintain a qualified and diverse work force when it is time to staff the John W. Turk, Jr. power plant. HR will utilize many local and state resources to identify prospective qualified applicants and will communicate any updates once staffing plans are finalized and ready for implementation.

SWEPCO Donates $1 Million to UACCH for Technical, Industrial Program Scholarships
On Feb. 11, 2008, the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope announced that SWEPCO had donated $1 million to fund scholarships for technical and industrial programs at UACCH in Hope, Texarkana College or Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas. The funds will support workforce development in Southwest Arkansas, where the Turk plant will be built. See the news release.
