2021 Accredited Deliverable Capacity RFP

Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO), an American Electric Power company, has issued a 2021 SPP Capacity RFP to obtain up to 200 megawatts (MW) in 2023/2024 and up to 250 MW in 2025, 2026 and 2027 of accredited deliverable electric generating capacity from one or more resources within the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) to supply the needs of SWEPCO’s customers.

Proposals will be evaluated based on criteria outlined in the final 2021 SPP Capacity RFP. Proposals must be for a capacity only product with a minimum term of two (2) years and a maximum term of five (5) years with a start date of June 1, 2023.

To qualify for consideration resources must interconnect to the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) RTO and proposals must be for a minimum quantity of 50 MW. Refer to the RFP for additional requirements (See Sections 4 and 8.2).

Proposals are due August 12, 2021. All proposal responses should be directed to the RFP Manager outlined in the RFP documents.
