SWEPCO restoring power after severe storms

April 13, 2022

Nearly 46,000 SWEPCO customers are without power after severe weather swept through the Ark-La-Tex overnight.

Damage assessors have reported downed power lines and fallen trees throughout the area.

Remember to stay away and keep children and pets away from downed lines. Treat all downed power lines as if they are energized and dangerous.

As of 6 a.m. today, about 40,000 customers in Northwest Louisiana and 8,400 customers in East Texas are without power. At the peak, about 65,000 customers were without power.

The hardest-hit areas are Shreveport, Bossier City and Haughton in Louisiana, and Longview and Gladewater in East Texas.

We’ll share estimated restoration times as soon as they becomes available.
