SWEPCO has updated restoration times for the approximately 9,200 customers who remain without power in Louisiana and East Texas after severe storms hit the area Tuesday and Wednesday.
Estimated times for power to be restored to 95% of customers are:
Louisiana
- Shreveport: 10 p.m. Friday, April 15
- Bossier City: 1 p.m. Friday, April 15
- Haughton: 1 p.m. Friday, April 15
- Vivian: noon Friday, April 15
- Mansfield: 10 p.m. today
East Texas
- Longview: 5 p.m. today
- Gladewater: 10 p.m. today
Service has been restored to at least 95% of customers in Lockesburg and Nashville in Arkansas, Natchitoches and Hornbeck in Louisiana, and Carthage, Gilmer, Henderson, Kilgore, Marshall and Mineola in East Texas.
As of 11 a.m., more than 8,600 customers in Louisiana and 580 in East Texas remained without power. At peak, approximately 65,000 customers were without power after the first line of storms moved through the Ark-La-Tex region late Tuesday.
Crews are using special equipment to restore power in difficult-to-access areas, including backyards and heavily wooded areas. Much of the work left to be done includes areas that are difficult to access. Eighty crews consisting of more than 930 SWEPCO and contract employees are working to restore power quickly and safely.
