SWEPCO earns 2023 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence awards

March 28, 2023

SHREVEPORT, La. (March 28, 2023) – Southwestern Electric Power Co., an American Electric Power (Nasdaq: AEP) company, today announced the company received two 2023 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.

SWEPCO received ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence in Arkansas for continuing to deliver the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program that achieves verifiable energy savings, improves safety and comfort, and enhances the durability and affordability of residential customer homes. In Louisiana and Texas, the company received ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence for overcoming market barriers and promoting the widespread adoption of certified ENERGY STAR residential products through its energy efficiency programs.

“The rising costs of living coupled with ongoing COVID-related financial issues have made it even more important for us to help our customers identify ways to save energy, save money and live more comfortably,” said Paul Pratt, SWEPCO director of Customer Services & Marketing. “We’re honored for the SWEPCO team and our network of contractors to be recognized for providing exceptional energy efficiency programs that bring long-lasting value to our customers and communities.”

Each year, the ENERGY STAR program honors a group of businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy achievements. ENERGY STAR award winners lead their industries in the production, sale and adoption of energy efficient products, homes, buildings, services and strategies.

“I applaud this year’s ENERGY STAR award winners for working with EPA to deliver a clean energy future that saves American consumers and businesses money and creates jobs,” EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan.

Winners are selected from a network of thousands of ENERGY STAR partners. For a complete list of 2023 winners and more information about ENERGY STAR’s awards program, visit energystar.gov/awardwinners.
