COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 3, 2013 – American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) is seeking offers for the supply of low-sulfur coal to one or more of its generating stations.

AEP is seeking proposals for up to 300,000 tons of coal, delivered by barge, beginning in July 2013 and ending as late as December 2013. In addition, AEP is seeking spot and term proposals for up to one million tons of coal per year, delivered by rail or barge, beginning in January 2014 and ending as late as December 2015. Proposals with alternative terms will be accepted. Accepted bids will be at AEP’s discretion.
