Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) has initiated completed its Integrated Resource Planning process, and proposes to issue its final filed its Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) report at the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) in February 2024.
The IRP is a 20-year plan that outlines the energy resources that SWEPCO plans to secure to serve its existing and future customers. The IRP serves to inform the Commission and interested parties about the anticipated costs and other considerations of various resource options, as well as SWEPCO's preferred plan. The plan does not commit to any specific investment decision, nor is it a commitment to a specific course of action. It is simply a snapshot of the future at a given point in time.
SWEPCO has established a stakeholder engagement process, pursuant to the Louisiana Integrated Resource Plan rules. Interested parties are invited to register and to participate in the planning or review process before the plan is submitted to the LPSC.
SWEPCO has three objectives for the stakeholder engagement process:
SWEPCO held stakeholder meeting 1 on March 29, 2022. A second stakeholder meeting was held on July 20, 2022. A third stakeholder meeting occurred on Aug. 29, 2023.
