A $408 million project has installed additional environmental controls at the 528-megawatt coal-fueled Flint Creek Power Plant in Northwest Arkansas.
Welsh Power Plant Environmental Retrofit Project
A $411 million project has installed additional environmental controls at Units 1 and 3 (528 MW each) of the coal-fueled Welsh Power Plant in East Texas.
SWEPCO began commercial operation of the advanced ultra-supercritical technology John W. Turk, Jr. Power Plant in Hempstead County, Ark., in December 2012.
SWEPCO began commercial operation of the 508-megawatt, combined-cycle natural gas J. Lamar Stall Unit in Shreveport, La., in June 2010.
Renewable energy for SWEPCO
SWEPCO has long-term power purchase agreements for 469 megawatts of wind energy from wind farms in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, including 359 megawatts announced in January 2012.
