Improved outage text alerts

SWEPCO offers outage alerts by text and/or email to provide you with information and updates for your neighborhood from our ground crews. And when necessary, we’ll automatically escalate your outage case when you need it. If you have not already signed up for outage alerts, enroll at SWEPCO.com/Alerts.

Outage Alerts include:

  • Outage updates
  • Restored power notifications
  • Notifications for large-scale outages caused by storms or other major events

You have asked us to improve our outage alerts. And, based on your feedback, we have!

Here’s how our two-way texting system works:

  • We’ll text you when our system indicates your power is out.
  • We’ll give you an estimated time for when it will be back on.
  • Once crews complete repairs, we’ll text to ask if your power has been restored.
  • If you respond you’re still without power, your outage is automatically escalated for additional attention.

These new features allow you to quickly share feedback so SWEPCO’s field employees can make additional repairs quickly.
