Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO), an American Electric Power company, is pursuing additional generation and capacity resources of up to 3,000 MW of SPP Accredited Capacity via the following Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
In addition, the Company is soliciting Proposals for completion of an energy storage project at SWEPCO’s Harry D. Mattison power plant site.
Self-Build Proposals: The Company plans to evaluate one or more Self-Build Proposals in addition to the Proposals received in the PSA RFP. The Self-Build Proposals will be developed by the AEP Projects Group who are independent from the RFP Team. Self-Build Proposals shall 1) be submitted to the RFP Team one day prior to the PSA, PPA, and CPA Proposal Due Date, and 2) use as a basis for the Proposal, the information required in the PSA Proposal Content Section (RFP Section 6) and all applicable appendices.
To qualify for consideration resources must interconnect to SPP with an SPP Queue Position of 2024-001 or earlier or in SPP’s Expedited Resource Adequacy Study queue.
Proposals are due July 29, 2026. All proposal responses should be submitted to the Sharepoint outlined in the RFP documents.
