SWEPCO Names Amy Schlesing as Region Communications Manager

SHREVEPORT, La.--Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) recently announced Amy Schlesing as the new Region Communications Manager for its Northwest Arkansas offices. 

Amy's extensive experience includes serving as a war correspondent for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, where she reported from conflict zones in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition to her journalism career, she has held significant roles, such as a trusted policy and communications advisor to former U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor, where she worked across Arkansas and provided support in Washington, D.C. 

Her previous roles also include transforming global internal communications at Tyson Foods, revamping communications for a Missouri hospital system, and serving as the executive director of communications at Arkansas' flagship university, where she led strategic communications.

Amy holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a master’s certificate in mediation and conflict resolution from Missouri State University.
