AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) is preparing for winter storms across its service territory, with highest impact along the Interstate 20 corridor and south into Louisiana on Tuesday, Feb. 11, where one-quarter to one-half inch accumulations of ice are expected.
The extreme Arctic cold front last week brought a new all-time winter peak load, as customers used 4,892 megawatts of electricity the morning of Jan. 7.
