SWEPCO Customer Operations Supervisor Criss Warren talks with a customer onboard the newly wrapped SporTran bus that promotes SWEPCO bill help and energy savings programs. A small team of employees rode the bus throughout the morning to answer questions and distribute helpful resources.
Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO), in partnership with SporTran, is proud to unveil a newly wrapped city bus designed to bring energy-saving tips and customer support directly to the community.
As part of the launch, SWEPCO employees will ride select SporTran routes today to engage with riders, answer questions, and share information about payment assistance programs, energy-saving strategies, and other helpful resources. Messaging will also be featured on digital signage at the SporTran terminal and across the fleet.
This initiative was inspired by customer feedback expressing a desire for more accessible information about managing energy costs. SWEPCO responded by transforming a city bus into a rolling billboard of support, service, and savings.
Customer Operations Supervisor Ashley Hill talks with a customer onboard a newly wrapped SporTran bus during its morning route near the Fairgrounds.
“Branding a bus and riding alongside our customers today is one more way to show that we’re listening and that we care,” said William C. Bradford, SWEPCO’s Vice President of External Affairs. “This event is about building trust, sharing helpful tools, and connecting person-to-person.”
Rashawnda Dunbar, SWEPCO’s Customer Operations Manager, will be among the employees riding the bus. Dunbar, whose father was a city bus driver, shared her personal connection to the moment.
“Growing up, I saw firsthand the impact of city services. Now at SWEPCO, I know how we power people’s lives,” said Dunbar. “Every day our team helps customers, and I’m proud to take that message directly to them.”
